Description
Feline Chlamydia Antigen Rapid Test(F.CT Ag)
Catalog No.:JCA130C
¤ INTENDED USE
The Feline Chlamydia Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Chlamydia felis antigen (F.CT Ag) in secretions from cat’s eyes.
Assay Time: 5-10 minutes
Specimen: secretions from cat’s eyes
¤ PRINCIPLE
The Feline Chlamydia Antigen Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated monoclonal antibodies. If there is Chlamydia antigen in the specimen, a visible T line will appear. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Chlamydia antigen in the specimen.
¤ SYMPTOMS
The symptoms of chlamydia infection are divided into eye symptoms and non eye symptoms. (Note: Mainly infecting the eyes and respiratory tract)
1. Eye symptoms
Conjunctivitis: Conjunctival redness and swelling can be visually observed, and conjunctivitis is the most common symptom of chlamydia infection. Usually only occurs in one eye, and there are rarely cases where both eyes are concurrent.
There are also some eye symptoms, including conjunctival congestion, bulbar conjunctival edema, blepharospasm, third eyelid prolapse, third eyelid congestion, eyelid secretions (chartreuse, viscous), eye discomfort (you may often use your forelimbs to "wash your face"), eyelid edema, epiphora, herpes conjunctivitis/conjunctival follicles, etc.
2. Non ocular symptoms
Chlamydia infection mostly causes eye diseases, with a few causing non eye diseases.
Symptoms include: rhinitis and nasal secretions (chartreuse, viscous; may also be nasal water), mild sneezing, fever (relatively rare), swollen lymph nodes, and claudication.
A small number of cats may experience symptoms of depression or drowsiness, decreased appetite, and weight loss (weight loss), but the vast majority of cats are still energetic and have normal appetite.
