About Canine Distemper Test Strips, You May Not Know These
Mar 30, 2022
For newly raised puppies, the owner will prepare some test strips for the small canine distemper coronavirus test. Although the test strips are not considered medicines, they are also medical supplies.
1. The test strips and supporting items are all disposable, so they cannot be used repeatedly or cross-purposely.
2. Once the test strip is opened, it must be used within five minutes. If you find that the seal is damaged before you use it, it means that the test strip may have expired, so replace it with a new one.
3. The shelf life of the test strip is generally two years. It can be stored at room temperature. Do not freeze it in the refrigerator.
4. When taking a sample, that is, when using the cotton swab to take the cake or nasal fluid, saliva, and urine, do not collect too much, about half to 2/3 of the cotton tip is enough.
5. Then, when the clear liquid in the collection bottle is sucked by the pipette and dripped onto the test plate, 3-5 drops are enough.
6. This is very important, that is, after dripping the clear liquid, be sure to judge the result within 5-10 minutes. After this time, it may be inaccurate to judge.
7. If there are discoloration bars on both the C line and the T line, it means that it is positive, indicating that there is a virus, but within the observation time, the color of the discoloration bar on the T line may be dark or light, regardless of the depth, even if the color is very light, It also means that it is positive, and this depth does not represent the amount of virus.
8. Usually the reaction of the virus to a certain part of the body will be detected to a certain extent. If the virus is in the incubation period (3-7 days), it cannot be detected, so it is best not to test today, tomorrow Test again, if you are worried, you can test again every other week.
9. Drugs will affect the test results, so if the dog takes medicine or has just been vaccinated, test again in a week!
10. The test cardboard must be placed flat on the table.
