Intended Use
The PPR Penside Test Kit is a rapid test for the detection of PPR virus. It is an immuno-chromatographic assay for the qualitative diagnosis of Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus Antibody (PPR Ab) in sheep’s serum or plasma specimen.

Principle
The PPR Penside Test Kit is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated PPR antigens. If there are anti-PPR antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will appears. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Bovine Brucella antibodies in the specimen.
Test Procedure
- Collect sheep’s fresh whole blood, get the serum or plasma specimen for use. Immediately apply the testing once collected the specimen. If not use right now, keep storage at 2-8°C. If the storage time more than 24hours, the specimen should be frozen at -20°C.
- Take the test kit to room temperature (20-30°C) before use. Keep all component in room temperature for at least 30 minutes to recover the reaction conditions.
- Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
- Place 4 drops (approx. 120μL) of serum or plasma specimen into the sample hole of the test card.
- Interpret the result at 10 minutes. Result after 15minutes is considered as invalid.
Interpretation of Results - Positive (+): The presence of both “C” line and zone “T” line, no matter T line is clear or vague.
- Negative (-): Only clear C line appear. No T line.
- Invalid: No colored line appears in C zone. No matter if T line appears.
