Newcastle Virus Antibody Rapid Test(NDV Ab)

INTENED USE

The Newcastle Disease Virus Antibody Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Newcastle disease virus antibody (NDV Ab) in avian serum or plasma specimen.

Assay Time:  5-10 minutes

Specimen: serum, plasma

PRINCIPLE

The Newcastle Disease Virus Antibody Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated Newcastle disease virus antigens. If there is Newcastle disease virus antibody (NDV Ab) in the specimen, a visible T line will appear. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Newcastle disease virus antibody (NDV Ab) in the specimen.

PRODUCT BRIEF

The Newcastle Disease Virus Antibody Rapid Test is a diagnostic tool based on a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. This test is designed to detect the presence of antibodies against the Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) in serum, plasma, or whole blood samples. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The test provides a qualitative result that is visible to the naked eye within 10-15 minutes, making it a rapid and effective screening tool for NDV.

Newcastle Disease, also known as avian pneumoencephalitis or pseudoplague, is a highly contagious viral disease that affects a wide range of birds including chickens, turkeys, pigeons, ducks, and geese. NDV is a member of the Paramyxoviridae family and is responsible for high morbidity and mortality rates in poultry flocks, resulting in significant economic losses worldwide. NDV can cause respiratory, digestive and nervous system symptoms, and can lead to high mortality rates in affected birds.

For effective control and prevention of NDV, early detection of the virus is crucial. The Newcastle Disease Virus Antibody Rapid Test is a reliable and easy-to-use diagnostic tool that provides a rapid response to NDV infection. The test device consists of a nitrocellulose membrane that is coated with recombinant NDV antigen on the test line and goat anti-mouse IgG antibody on the control line. The sample pad, conjugate pad, and absorbent pad are placed in different parts of the test device.

During the assay, the sample is added to the sample well, and it then migrates along the nitrocellulose membrane by capillary action. If NDV antibodies are present in the sample, they will bind to the recombinant NDV antigen, forming a complex. The complex will then migrate along the nitrocellulose membrane and bind to the anti-mouse IgG antibody on the test line, producing a visible reddish-purple line. If NDV antibodies are absent in the sample, no line will be visible on the test line and the control line will appear, indicating a negative result.

The Newcastle Disease Virus Antibody Rapid Test provides several advantages over traditional diagnostic methods, such as virus isolation, antigen detection, or serological tests. These methods are often time-consuming, require a laboratory setting, and are dependent on the operator's skill and training. On the other hand, the NDV Antibody Rapid Test is a simple point-of-care diagnostic tool that can provide a reliable and rapid diagnosis in the field or in a laboratory setting. Moreover, the test does not require special equipment or technical expertise, making it an ideal candidate for use in resource-limited settings.

In conclusion, the Newcastle Disease Virus Antibody Rapid Test is a valuable diagnostic tool for the detection of NDV antibodies. With its simple design and rapid response, this test can be used as a screening tool for NDV in poultry flocks and can help to prevent the spread of the virus. The test is easy to use, requires no special equipment or technical skills, and can provide quick results within 10-15 minutes. The test device with its testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading makes it an ideal tool for field use and laboratory testing.
