Description
Avian Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test (ALV Ag)
Catalog No.: JIA405
The Avian Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Avian Leukemia virus antigen (ALV Ag) from avian serum, plasma, the tissues of lesion or secretions from cloaca.
Assay Time: 5-10 minutes
Specimen: serum, plasma, the tissues of lesion or secretions
The Avian Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated monoclonal antibodies. If there is ALV antigen in the specimen, a visible T line will appear. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of ALV antigen in the specimen.
The Avian Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test (ALV Ag Rapid Test) is a diagnostic tool used to detect the presence of Avian Leukemia Virus (ALV) antigen in chicken blood samples. This test is based on the principle of a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay that utilizes monoclonal antibodies specific to ALV antigen.
The ALV Ag Rapid Test device consists of a plastic cassette that contains a nitrocellulose membrane strip. The membrane strip is divided into three sections – a sample pad, a conjugate pad, and a result window. The sample pad is where the chicken blood sample is applied, and the conjugate pad contains the monoclonal antibody conjugated with colloidal gold particles. When the blood sample flows through the conjugate pad, the ALV antigen present in the sample binds with the monoclonal antibody-gold conjugate.
The ALV Ag Rapid Test follows a simple and easy-to-use procedure, requiring only a few steps. Firstly, the chicken blood sample is collected and mixed with the sample diluent provided in the kit. Secondly, one drop of the sample is added to the sample well of the test cassette. The sample then mixes with the conjugate, and the mixture migrates along the membrane strip by the capillary action. Finally, the test results are interpreted by observing the colour changes in the result window.
In the event of a positive test result, the strips in the result window will display both a control line (C) and a test line (T) and indicate the presence of ALV antigen in the sample. In contrast, a negative result will display only a control line (C), indicating no ALV antigen. When the strip color changes occur only in the test line (T), the test is considered as an invalid result, and the test should be repeated with a new test kit.
The Avian Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test is a fast, reliable, and cost-effective tool that can detect ALV antigen in chicken blood samples in just a few minutes in the field. It is a valuable diagnostic tool in managing ALV prevalence and preventing further outbreaks, minimizing economic losses, and ensuring public health safety.
In conclusion, the Avian Leukemia Virus Antigen Rapid Test is an essential tool in the field of veterinary medicine. It plays a vital role in the early detection of ALV antigen in poultry farms, enabling farmers and animal health professionals to take immediate action. The test offers a simple, rapid, and reliable method of detecting ALV antigen, making it an indispensable tool for poultry farmers and animal health professionals alike.
